“Know ye not, that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by
baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of Father, even so we also should walk in newness of
life.” Romans 6:3-4
What is Baptism
Water Baptism is the full submersion of one’s complete body into water. It symbolizes the death (Romans 6:3-11) burial (Colossians 2:12) and resurrection
(Romans 6:4-5) of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When we are submerged, we are buried with Him.
We bury the old man and when we rise, we rise to walk in the newness of life.
Is it necessary
As believers of the word of God, we must identify ourselves with Jesus Christ. One becomes identified with Jesus Christ by becoming a born-again, spirit-filled
believer. This is done by receiving the new birth through the “water” baptism and receiving of the “spirit” which is the Holy Ghost.

Answer to: Matthew 28:19
Why do we baptize in the name of Jesus Christ and not the way Jesus states in Matt. 28:19?
- The first law of rightly dividing the word is, “never build a doctrine on one scripture alone”.
- The book of Matthew was written about 34 years after the Day of Pentecost (A.D. 67).
- Matthew stood with Peter (Acts 2:14) and did not dispute the baptism in Jesus Name.
- Father, Son and Holy Ghost are titles not names.
- Matthew is historically considered to have written this book to Jews who were taught not to say His name in vain.
- Therefore, He sought not to alienate these Orthodox Jews.
