Hope

hope

Proverbs 23:18 (NIV)

18 There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

Hope is a gift from God. When God gives you hope, it can’t be taken away. The enemy will always do his very best to destroy hope, but it won’t work. You see hope is a supernatural thing that lives inside of us.  You can assault my hope, attack my hope, belittle my hope, try and diminish my hope, but at the end of the day my hope lives. My hope thrives. My hope is now and also lives in the future. My hope can’t be cut off.

Hope has purpose. Hope inspires. Hope sustains. Hope fuels dreams. Hope carries you through storms. Hope sees the future. Hope is a catalyst for change.

Sometimes what we are facing will cause us to question whether or not we will make it out. The problem here may just be human perception, but hope tells me to look again. God will always match my strength for my days. (Duet 33:25) Recall some of the major victories that hope carried you through. If God did it before He can do it again.

I just want to charge you again not to surrender your hope. Don’t be bullied out of your hope. Don’t be tricked out of your hope. Don’t be talked out of your hope. Just because you have not seen it yet, and God has not changed things, does not mean He has changed His mind. You have fought too hard and endured too much. Hope is now, and hope is for you.

Your hope will not be cut off.

Disobedience Produces Losses

 “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword;

Isaiah 1:19-20 (NKJV)

Men and women of God I believe most of us desire to be financially stable or independent. But there are a number of principles that we must follow in this world that will assist in bringing that wealth to manifestation.

The first principle is WORK

“The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

Deuteronomy 28:12

It is not an option in the kingdom or the world we must work – get a job, produce and we must know that “Money Matters!!!”

Listen to your Body

body

By Tracy Byrd, Certified Fitness Coordinator, Coach, Trainer & 2x World Boxing Champion

Many people feel aches and pains in their body due to workouts, undue stress or simply everyday living. If you haven’t felt any body pain, then as my mother would say, “just live a little longer!” These feelings of discomfort in your body is actually your body speaking and you should be listening. Here are some simple relief techniques: Prayer & Meditation, a good Spa Day, Eating Healthy, Breathing Easy (3-5 minutes of slow deep breathing), Exercise, a hot bath/shower, then ice (20 minutes to sore area) and a good night sleep.

Workouts: When working out if you “Feel the burn” in your muscles during a tough workout that is a perfectly normal sign that you’re challenging your body. Sweating and labored breathing can also be quite natural. But throbbing joints or sudden, sharp pains anywhere are signs that you need to stop what you’re doing. Also, post-workout pain that do not let up after a few days of rest and ice warrants a trip to the doctor.

When your body speaks, listen, learn, and relieve!

Declaring a Homestead

legal
By Stephanie M. Keels. Esq.

If you are a homeowner, it is important to declare a homestead on your main property. A homestead protects your home from being sold by creditors to pay for any debts you owe. You declare a homestead by completing a Declaration of Homestead form and recording the same with the County Assessor’s office.

A homestead protects the equity in your home up to $550,000, and the equity is reduced by any outstanding mortgages. If your home is worth $250,000 but you have a mortgage in the amount of $200,000, the equity is $50,000.00.

The homestead protects your home from forced sale for general debts including, but not limited to, medical bills, personal injury awards, personal loans and business loans. However, it does not protect you against IRS lien’s, child support, alimony payments and other exempt debts.

For more information on Homestead’s, please refer to NRS 115 and the Clark County website at

Dealing with Creditors

legal

By Stephanie M. Keels, Esq.

It is not wise to ignore calls from creditors. It is better to take the call and try to negotiate a payment that you can realistically afford; even if the amount you can pay is minimal. If you fail to do so, the creditor can escalate the matter by filing a court action and attempting to garnish your wages or attach your bank account. If this happens, it can devastate your household and further worsen your financial situation because you have very little power about how much money is garnished or attached. NRS Chapter 31 addresses attachments and garnishments in Nevada. NRS 31.295 sets forth how much money can be garnished from one’s wages. Needless to say, the amount of money allowed to be garnished by law will probably be more than you can afford to pay. As such, it is best to address creditors head on.

Harvesting Joy

harvest

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Psalm 126:5-6 (KJV)

Why settle for happiness when you can have joy? Joy is a richer crop than happiness. No one is exempt from suffering, but not everyone knows how to use those tears as seed. If you are going to endure a thing, out last a season, rise above a circumstance, then you would be crazy to overlook a harvest or a reward for not giving up.  Galatians 6:9 reminds us that we will reap if we don’t faint.

Harvest is not automatic. Just because you have a season of tears or suffering doesn’t necessarily mean you get a harvest. Harvest must be contended for. It’s an intentional use of your seed. Seed must be put into the soil. God doesn’t waste anything and we shouldn’t either. Instead of growing bitter, angry, and introverted, put those tear-seeds into the ground. You do that by prayer, praise, and faith that something greater is coming.

God’s mathematics and divine manifestation has to do with multiplication. This is where you count it all joy.

Joy is like the checkbook of your life. When the enemy or life itself brings you to the places of pain, you seed those into your account. Sowing in tears is setting you up for God’s supernatural harvest.

“I may be crying now…but that’s a deposit into my joy account. I may have lost this battle…but that’s a deposit into my joy account.”

After you have outlasted that season…it’s time to harvest joy.

Blood Pressure

blood

When diagnosed with high blood pressure, most individuals are given strict orders to improve their diet and start exercising. When blood pressure is very high, the doctor may wish to start the patient on blood pressure-lowering medications. While eating healthy can help lower blood pressure over time, there are specific foods you can eat that will target high blood pressure and may quickly reverse the condition. Eating these foods will have the added benefit of aiding in weight loss, which in turn, will help lower blood pressure as well:

WHOLE GRAINS (oatmeal, oat bran muffins); LOW-FAT DAIRY (skim milk, fat-free yogurt); SPINACH (fresh, prepackaged or frozen); NUTS, SEEDS, & BEANS (edamame, soybeans, unsalted sunflower seeds); BANANAS (add to smoothies or to grain toast & peanut butter); BAKED POTATOES (use a little low-fat sour cream); DARK CHOCOLATE (small amount); SALMON (high in protein & vitamin D); GREEN TEA (high in antioxidants); AVOCADOS (high in antioxidants, B6, magnesium, folic acid)
