Fill Your Horn with Oil

1 Samuel 16:1, 12-14 KJV

1 And the Lord said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Beth–lehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.  Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.  But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him.

This story shows some interesting things about going to your next level. Sometimes going to a next level feels like anything but a next level. This year I pray that God would open the eyes of your understanding that you may be like the sons of Issachar 1Chronicles 12:32 to be able to discern the movements and timing of God.

  1. Let go of the old– Samuel was morning over something God was done with. God had to tell him to let it go…Saul’s season was over. There is always a natural uncertainty and an emotional response when one level comes to an end. Let it go and trust God’s plan.
  2. Next level acceleration- He knows what He has invested and created in you. You may have been in a low place or a place of obscurity but when it’s your next level season He will search you out. He will accelerate your destiny. He will cause life, people, and opportunities to seek you out. This is the last becoming first. He will put your name in someone’s spirit.
  3. Next level Anointing- When God opens up your next level, the anointing breaks the seal. That anointing is God saying YES YOU, YES NOW!

Stop looking at what didn’t’ happen. Forget who or what is no longer here. You are here. Just like God had provided a king, God has provided for your future. There is a next level anointing that you need to break the barriers and limitations off or your life. Get in the flow. Filling your horn with oil is tapping into that refreshing of the Holy Spirit. I pray that this season would bring a personal revival to your life.

FILL YOUR HORN WITH OIL.
