Fresh Wind

JANUARY 2018

HAPPY NEW YEAR…it is 2018, the Year that we are decreeing according to Acts 2:2 the power of the “Fresh Wind”.  I believe that this will be an exceptional year of the Lord’s favor in 3 dimensions: Spirit, Power, and Abundance.  We will arise like a mighty army with victory and the authority to conquer.  I know by a witness in my spirit that this will be a year of great manifestation of God’s hand. It is so important that we trump through every misconception of who we are in Christ Jesus, and realize that the past of the former years cannot be a deterrent of us moving forward and taking major faith steps towards our purpose.  Begin this year with a perpetual praise and being persistent about framing your world with Words of faith, stay consistent in prayer, reading the word of God, fasting and holding on to what God has promised us, will cause us to have a second wind to complete the course.  You must hold on to your Faith in 2018!

In Hebrews 11:6 Amp it reads:

 “ But without faith, it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.”

I love the word reward. A reward is a recompense for a worthy act. God loves to reward and benefit you for diligently seeking Him.

Learn to live the lifestyle of pursuing the things of God, putting him first in your life, and raising your expectation level.

The things you are thankful for are the things that God will multiply in your life; begin this year honoring God through gratefulness. Put Him first every day.

Words create your daily experiences. Words are containers of expectation. They are filled with possibilities. Possibilities come as you change the way you think. Words have a powerful effect on the atmosphere around you. Get excited about your words. Your Words will be bringing your breakthrough. Your Words are renewing your strength. Your Words are bringing your abundance and your Words are restoring your health.

Words are powerful tools that open and close doors. Every time you change the way you speak, you open a whole new world of opportunities. Words are powerful tools for changing your life. Your reward is closer than you think…This year 2018, we the Body of Christ will see the hand of the Lord move mighty in our lives, this will be an incredible year of favor, increase, strength, creativity and renewed passion to pursue our dreams.

13“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “When the plowman shall overtake the one who gathers the harvest, and the one who treads the grapes [shall overtake] him who sows the seed [for the harvest continues until planting time]; When the mountains will drip sweet wine. And all the hills shall melt [that is, everything that was once barren will overflow with streams of blessing].
14 “Also I shall bring back the exiles of my people Israel, and they will rebuild the deserted and ruined cities and inhabit them: They will also plant vineyards and drink their wine, And make gardens and eat their fruit.15
“I will also plant them on their land, And they shall never again be uprooted from their land.  Which I have given them,” Says the Lord your God.  Amos 9:13-15

Merry Christmas from Our Hearts to Yours

While we’re opening our gifts, enjoying the company of our friends and family, celebrating the memories, as we gather around the dinner table to eat great food and the warmth of laughs, please let us take one moment to remember the true meaning of Christmas, “Jesus”.

Wishing you and yours a Blessed and Merry Christmas – Pastor Clinton & Dr. Mary L. House

23 “Behold, THE VIRGIN shall be with child and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel” which, when translated, means, “God with us.” 24 Then Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and he took Mary [to his home] as his wife, 25 but he kept her a virgin until she had given birth to a Son [her firstborn child]; and he named Him Jesus (The Lord is salvation).

O Give Thanks 2018

O’ Give Thanks

Every year during the month of November (Monday, November 12th at midnight — Friday, November 16th at 4:00 pm), Mountaintop Faith Ministries (MFM) embarks upon a week of ‘O Give Thanks, a week of consecration; reflecting on God’s goodness, His mercy and His grace towards us. It is during this time that we empty out or vacate our “house” and allow Jesus to take over and occupy our life in every aspect (mental, physical, financial, social and most of all spiritual). We exchange what we need to survive for what we need to live and that is Christ.

Fasting is a faith-move. We believe that because we are empty and ready to receive from God that the Holy Spirit will speak to us more clearly, filling us with His wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

From a physical aspect, fasting helps to detox our bodies, especially, if we replace food with fresh water.  Fasting helps reduce clogged arteries and lowers heart disease. So as we go through the week of ‘O Give Thanks, let us fast, pray, mediate and praise God for this is truly the embodiment of health and wellness.

Someone once said, “Fasting without prayer is just dieting.”  When you are doing a spiritual fast, it automatically comes by “prayer and fasting.” (Matthew 17:21). And so in health and wellness we do not “diet;” but rather, we ‘cleanse’ and focus on the entire body, mind and soul.

Prayer – taking time out to communicate with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through word or thought.

Fasting- a willing abstinence or reduction from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time.

Healthy Eating – eating a variety of foods that give you nutrients such as: protein, carbohydrates, fat, water, vitamins, and minerals you need to maintain your health, feel good, and have energy.

Wellness – the state of being in good health, especially as an actively pursued goal.

Once you complete the MFM week of ‘O Give Thanks, make sure you keep it going.  Take time out weekly to fast & pray.  MFM has established every Wednesday from 12 midnight to 4 pm as their Corporate Day of fasting.  Join us, simply “Get in where you fit in.”

Note: Please consult your doctor / health professional before beginning any fast.

‘Nevada Pro Bono Services’

The Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada’s Mission is to the preservation of access to justice and the provision of quality legal counsel, advice and representation for individuals who are unable to protect their rights because they cannot afford an attorney.  How this legal service is provided is through the Pro Bono Project.

The Pro Bono Project coordinates private attorneys who generously volunteer to provide free legal services to individual who cannot afford an attorney.  While the attorneys do not charge clients their hourly rates, clients are responsible for any cost in the case that cannot be waived.

Through the Project, pro bono attorneys provide assistance with matters including, but not limited to, real estate, consumer fraud, bankruptcy, and family law, including representation of domestic violence victims and child victims of abuse.

TYPES OF ASSISTANCE THE PRO BONO PROJECT PROVIDES

The Pro Bono Project matches private attorney volunteers with low-income individuals in need of assistance in the following areas:

  • Adoption
  • Bankruptcy
  • Child Abuse/Neglect (Representing Children)
  • Civil/Consumer
  • Divorce
  • Domestic Violence

The above list is not exclusive of the areas of assistance.  It is also important to note that they DO NOT provide assistance with criminal, employment, personal injury, or traffic matters.

To apply for services, residents of Clark County must meet financial guidelines established the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada.

If an applicant meets the initial requirements, the applicant will be scheduled for an interview with an intake advocate. The applicant will be required to provide proof of all Household income and documents related to the case.

Once all necessary intake information has been provided, the case will be considered by a review committee.  The committee will determine whether we will assist the applicant based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, merits of the case and availability of volunteers.

If the committee decides to accept the case, the applicant will then be placed on a waiting list while we begin the process of trying to match the case with an available volunteer attorney. This process typically takes between 30 and 90 days.

Once a person is accepted for service, they MUST:

  1. Keep the Project informed of any changes in contact information;
  2. Notify the Project immediately of any changes in household income;
  3. While on the waiting list, inform the Project of any developments in your case and provide us with copies of any documents received from the court or opposing party;
  4. Be prompt and prepared for all meetings with the volunteer attorney; and
  5. Be prepared to pay any costs associated with your case (You will not be charged attorney’s fees, but volunteer attorneys are not necessarily agreeing to pay out of their pockets for costs in your case.
